Falling asleep at the cube...

By Lou - Posted on 18 July 2008

We've all been there... Sitting at your cube, nothing to do, the day's dead, and either the net is blocked or you've so completely exhausted your browsing for the day your brain is melting. The eyelids droop, the Mountain Dew/coffee/Rockstar/whatever is doing absolutely nothing. You're about to fall asleep at work. Again. And nothing seems capable of combating this workplace evil. What do you do??

It's one of those things that you can't do anything about, it seems. Caffeine, food, smoking, frequent breaks, standing up, spinning around in circles in your chair, or even a nap during your break or lunch. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Definitely a frustrating way to be unproductive and/or get fired.

Are there any tips or tricks that you use when you feel that drowsiness fighting it's way to the surface no matter how much sleep you've had the night before? If so, please, post and share your ideas and tricks to help keep the mind awake when all else is dead at the workplace.
